Staff Boom Arts AcademyIsla has worked among Directors, Choreographers and Producers in the industry for  many years. She has Performed and Choreographed Music Videos sponsored by  Addidas  and Vevo Music channel, as well as a Choreographer and backing dancer on Pop Girl TV (Sky channel).  She also was Dance Captain, Soloist Dancer and Choreographer for a Dance Performance at The Royal Albert Hall in front of Our Majesty.
Alongside this she has worked with the BBC on numerous occasions in BBC’s “Casualty” Warner Bros films including “Harry Potter,  The Boat that Rocked,” and many more. 
She has built up a network of contacts within the industry in Dance and Acting over  the years, and still performs in the industry itself now. Her knowledge is extensive and current. This is always passed on to aiding her student’s achieve there dreams and build their confidence in all styles of Dance, Acting, Singing and Musical Theatre.
She choreographs shows and Videos around Europe and London regularly. She also teaches Freelance at Performing arts schools, such as the well known Brit school and many more Vocational and Professional Schools.
Isla has trained at Brit School 4 years and Italia Conti 3 years. She holds a BA in professional practice in the Performing Arts, PGCE, and ISTD Qualifications in Modern, Tap and Ballet with DDI & DDE’S teaching up to Advanced levels. She puts her students in for exams regularly achieving Fantastic Marks in Modern, Tap, Street Dance and Ballet.
She is an Associate Street Dance teacher (only 4 in Uk) with  the ISTD,  Allowing  students to be put in for exams and gain medals in Street dance. Isla also works with Street dance troupe’s having a troupe of her own “Boom Dance Crew.”

 

Mathew Harding- BA

Mathew has travelled to Los Angeles discovering street dance and studied dance from a young age. He has his own Company Urban Interface that travel with Street dance with Boom Dance Crew. Matt and Isla have been dancing together for over 8 years and have performed at many venues in london including Royal Albert Hall, Saddlers wells, Spotlight and many more. Matt’s extensive knowledge in street dance and experience is passed to the younger generation in forms of workshops in China, Germany, London and America. Matt continues to work in the industry and is continuously working on new projects with Urban Interface including Boom Arts Academy.

 

Sam Morais

Professional Break dancer and Cheer and Gymnastics Teacher BCA

Staff Boom Arts AcademySam started dancing from the age of 14 years old, he has competed and toured worldwide with Cheerleading and Gymnastic championships. Sam has also competed with Street dance/B-boy in London achieving medals and an amazing status and reputation in the industry of dance.

 

 

 

 

 Lauren Johnson – BA

Street dance, Hip Hop and Disco Freestyle

Staff Boom Arts AcademyLauren has since the age of 7 years old, learning styles including Ballet, Tap, Disco, Contemporary and Hip Hop, alongside a variety of cultural styles . Lauren  graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Urban Dance at the University of East London , focusing on the Hip Hop era and styles. Lauren has performed in many well know theatres and has worked alongside well know names and choreographers in the dance industry. Lauren is fully qualified teacher in Disco Freestyle , Street dance and Hip Hop having a Teaching Associate with the ISTD.

 

 

 

Philip Green

Acting, Comedy, Musical Theatre, Commercial Street Dance, ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern

Philip is best known for his audition on Britain’s Got Talent Series 7 (2013). His likeable character, unique personality, comedy impressions and dance performance landed him a  place in the live finals.
He trained at Italia Conti and graduated in performing arts and dance teaching in 2011.  During this time he performed in several roles on CBBC School for Stars, short films and  TV commercials.
Since graduating he has performed in numerous pantomimes, music videos, charity events, festivals, radio shows and as a professional dancer at the London Olympic Opening Ceremony 2012. Theatre credits include: Herman the Henchman in Snow White, Redditch 2011 and Lowestoft 2014. Cecco in Peter Pan, Derby 2012, Little John in Robin Hood (UK Tour) 2015 and Seadog Billy in Pirates of the Pavilion, Weymouth 2015.
Philip’s impressions have led him to work with production companies such as the BBC, ITV, Princess Productions, 12 Yards, CDS Studios LLC and more, while working alongside many directors, producers and impressionists within the industry.
He has his own YouTube channel ‘The Philip Green Show’ (www.YouTube.com/officialphilwgreen) uploading every Tuesday and Friday, where he writes, produces, performs and edits his own comedy sketches with over 15 million views collectively. His parodies are very popular and he can impersonate a huge variety of celebrities from around the world.
Philip has been actively involved in sporting events, raising funds for The Children Trust Tadworth including, running the London Marathon 2014.
Philip has his own dance and acting school in Surrey where he teaches and provides performing opportunities to young people.

 

Georgie Lomax

ISTD Ballet, Tap, Modern and Boom Cheerleading

Staff Boom Arts AcademyGeorgie started dancing at the age of 3 she then went on to the well known Brit School Of Performing Arts where she studied a BTEC National Diploma in  Musical theatre for 4 years.
Georgie then went on to her teacher’s training in dance  and became  qualified in teaching ISTD Modern theatre, Tap and Ballet obtaining her DDI and DDE’s to teach up to advanced level’s.
Georgie’s professional work includes dancing and cheerleading around the UK
for top events being placed at the most famous stadium’s.  These include Rugby 7’s, NFL games,Heineken, Beach volleyball, Golf tournaments, Heineken, Amlin Cup Finals and many more.
She has also performed in many Pantos and Dance Shows in well known Theatre’s around the Country.Georgie has played Principal parts and has also Choreographed routines as dance captain.

 

 

Martine Medcraft

Adult Booty Barre, Adult Street Dance, Commercial Street and Commercial Jazz

Martine got a scholarship to the well known famous Urdang academy in London at 18, and graduated at  age 21. Martine was then signed to a record label and was in a girl band for 4 years touring around the uk. She was in various dance troupes including rudeye and stiletto performing at high brow events around London. Martine has performed at the London palladium and has  also lived in Dubai on a dance contract.,performing at exclusive events in Beirut Staff Boom Arts Academy.

Martine started Booty barre  a year ago at a gym and fell in love with it. It’s an amazing workout but also maintains technique for dancers and adults, as well as toning flexibility and core strength. The benefits are endless. One of the best classes she says “I  have ever done.”

Her extensive knowledge on the industry and the dance world makes her teaching and guidance the highest of quality.
 

 

 

 

 

Katrina Kemp

Assistant Manager- Vice Principle of Boom Arts Academy

Staff Boom Arts AcademyKatrina started dancing when she was three years old, in ballet tap modern, acting and jazz. She has worked with the BBC on many occasions working with famous cast members whilst growing up.
She appeared in the film “They never slept.”
Katrina has worked with children since the age of 16 and has travelled to many countries doing administration for the performing arts industry.  Katrina is also a qualified hairdresser and has worked behind the scenes in theatre and stage. She is fully qualified to work with children as well as holding a current DBS.
